Hello fellow Deviants!

Here is a quick update with two events of note.

An article was published in a Delaware magazine recently about a collector of my paintings. It is a terrific article which mentions my artwork, along with many paintings being seen in photographs of Patti Hurd's beautiful home. Here is a link to the article. Enjoy!

The other exciting news is that my painting "David's Studio, Sunset" is featured on the cover of a new poetry e-book titled "Sonnets From The Labrador" by well-respected poet Samuel Peralta. This book is a collection of poetry inspired by the beautiful artwork of David Blackwood. "Sonnets From The Labrador" e-book will be available via Amazon for the kindle and for download. Here is a link to Samuel's blog. semaphore1.blogspot.ca/

Also, ere is a link to where you can see the image...via my Facebook art page! www.facebook.com/pages/Heather…

Thanks for reading and hope this update finds you in great health!

An Aesthetic Voyage: Paintings Inspired by the life and travels of Christopher McCandless

June 3-18th, 2011

Abbozzo Gallery, Oakville, Ontario, Canada

I have an upcoming exhibition of new paintings inspired by the life and travels of Christopher McCandless!

Christopher's story was the subject of John Krakauer's book "Into The Wild", and the film "Into The Wild" directed by  Sean Penn. These paintings were created through inspiration from his photographs that he took on his two year journey of self-discovery.

The exhibition will have its opening reception on June 3rd from 7-10pm. I will also be at the gallery on Saturday, June 4th from 2-4pm for guests who were not able to make the opening reception the night before. I hope to see you there! Have a beautiful day and weekend :)
