Self with Shadow
2008
Oil On Canvas
22"x28"

This is another of the doppelganger series. This one deals with the Jungian concept of The Shadow, the dark, unconscious side that we all have within ourselves yet we don't have access to.

One word...fantastic! I think this is my favorite from your gallery! Love your work as always. I often think about that other side of me, afraid to see what I might find there... there was a time where I was very close.

Its a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milkbone underwear!
Stunning work, and an important subject it explores. A lot of my work explores our 'shadow selves' and how we need to embrace our shadows as much as our light. Beautiful work

I love the Olympia references with the cat and pose. Jungian theory always makes for an interesting interpretation.
You're fabric! YOU'RE FABRIC!

Have no idea what else to say... :(
