I really love the way you get the skin to look real fleshy. I have a real difficult time achieving that. But I'm taking a painting the figure in context class next semester so hopefully I'll be able to figure that out. But as always, a very wonderful job!

gorgeous painting, working on so many levels, it has depth, light, i particularly like the browns in the wood, do you mix up your brown or is from the tube?

I mix most of my browns but I do have burnt sienna on my palette. No umbers, I just use it as a base sometimes and then add other colours as necessary. Glad you like it :)

Thanks so much. I appreciate it. Flesh is the most fun to paint I find, but true enough, very challenging too sometimes.
