I am going to paint my palette once a year for the rest of my painting career. An artist's palette is very personal I feel and has different incarnations throughout one's life.

loads of things one can notice for an artist's palette..very intimate painting indeed

i keep thinking whether the palette featured here was the one you really used to draw the same palette in the beginning :confused: lol i think i should shut it ^^;

I'm just so much in awe at the way you paint - there's so much realism, yet there are all these blocky individual brushstrokes, and even from this small photograph I can see that the painting surface is not smooth. I just can't get my head around how you manage to combine those 2 aspects so easily - it really is fascinating.

I agree with =KarenC this is a 'very intimate painting indeed', it almost feels as though you're revealing some sort of secret. You really feel drawn into it, and even though I want to examine every little detail in it, I really like the feeling that the 'whole' picture gives.

The mother of my x wife came to my studio one time, this was years ago, before we were married, and an old pallete was tilted against the wall. She thought it was one of my paintings and complemented me on it.

Lovely painting... gorgeous... intimate.

I agree: a palette can show so much about an artist. =) It's a shame I haven't painted in so long. I really wanna get back to it. Grr. I think I will, soon, though. ^_^
